EcoProFleet is a flexible conveyor technology for the paint shop of the future. The automated guided vehicle (AGV) transports car bodies independently between work stations in the paint shop and is intelligently controlled. This enables flexible and modular painting processes that would be unthinkable with conveyor technology installed rigidly in the floor.
The high-quality and functional design convinced the Red Dot jury across the board. With its platform only 225 mm high, the EcoProFleet goes under all typical workstations and conveyor systems. The AGV drives into a workstation directly with the transported bodywork. If the car body is transferred to another conveyor system, this is done quickly and precisely with load transfer stations. The glass surface gives the transport vehicle a high-quality appearance and also makes it resistant to paint and solvents. With its 850 kg dead weight, the EcoProFleet is capable of transporting loads of up to 1,000 kg.
The "Red Dot: Best of the Best" is awarded for groundbreaking design and is the highest distinction in the "Red Dot Award: Product Design". Only the best products in a category receive this award. Dürr had submitted the AGV EcoProFleet in the "Robotics" category of the competition for product design. Dürr provided the approximately 40 international experts on the jury with an original exhibit for live on-site evaluation. The evaluation process is based on various assessment criteria, including degree of innovation, functionality, formal quality and ergonomics. Dürr developed the design of the groundbreaking product in cooperation with the agency defortec GmbH from Stuttgart, one of the leading German companies for industrial design and product development.
EcoProFleet has already received two awards for its design in 2019. Dürr's AGV was able to convince both the jury of the IF Design Award and that of the Baden-Württemberg International Design Prize.
As winner of the "Red Dot: Best of the Best" Dürr will accept the award at the festive awards ceremony on June 22 in Essen in front of 1,200 guests.
